A trip to the City of Cats (Part 1)

The year end trip to Kuching had been in mind for some time since we were to attend a cousin's wedding in Sri Aman end of November. Just an additional 3 hours on the road will bring us to a more vibrant city with more things to see, and more malls to do shopping, so why not? But it nearly came to a halt when mommy got a new job with Curtin, where Trimester started in the first week of December.

After contemplating on the disappointment that's sure to come from the girls, we decided to go ahead, and mommy will just report duty on the 2nd week, no big deal! We stayed at our friends' house for 4 nights, and it proved to be a great time for both the adults and kids!

Day 1: Matang Wildlife Centre

The weather had been good - cloudy most of the time with slight drizzle. Gab enjoyed the visit the most as he got to see animals. Aman, the orangutan, was very friendly. He knew that we wanted to take his photo, so he came closer to us and stayed there for a long time. The visit was like a stroll in the forest with some animals to see along the path.

Day 2: Kuching Waterfront

Our actual plan for Day 2 was Samariang Water Park, but a brief check on the website showed that it was closed on Tuesday. Now, brief here really meant brief, like a glimpse. The fact is, it is OPEN EVERYDAY during school holidays!!! And we only realized it when we were physically there two days later...

Never mind, there was no fixed schedule for our trip. So, we took a stroll at waterfront around noon time. Don't worry, it was cloudy again, haha! Gab mimicked our pose with DUN Sarawak, and he again enjoyed the "run" on the bridge. There weren't many solo photos of Sarah because she was in one of her moody moods again, sigh... And this time it was because Gab snatched her sunglasses...

Travelling with small kids, our trip had been free and easy, leisure and lazy. There's no hurry, no rushing to the next destination. I think we all like it!
